Tonsillitis, commonly called angina, is the infection of the tonsils, the first human body’s defensive barrier against aggression from outside germs.

Why did it happen?

The tonsils are lymph nodes that belong to the defense system called the lymphatic system, responsible for contact with germs that enter our bodies and in response, launching a process that forms special cells to defend ourselves and kill germs that cause us diseases. However, sometimes glands do not act properly and we get sick.

The germs that can infect can be viruses or bacteria. It’s important to differentiate, since bacteria is essential if antibiotic treatment to prevent greater evils.
