Do not wait until your child is sick or need health checks for only then choose a pediatrician. Although you have been recently moved, have changed health insurance or have recently had a baby, is good to contact a doctor as soon as possible. For recommendations, start by first asking other physicians who care for them, for example, your medical condition, your obstetrician or gynecologist. Also other family members can give references, as well as their friends, relatives or coworkers.
After having some alternatives, ask to meet them interviews. If possible, both parents must go to those interviews. A personal interview allows you to directly assess the views and personality of the doctor.
Spend enough time in these interviews before making a final decision.
They point to assess: the general appearance of the office, the attitude and the friendly staff, the extent of the hours of operation, economics, the rate at which they get appointments, additional services available that mean comfort (eg. : Vaccination, information).
